Lance & Lisa :: Makena Beach Resort Wedding

Back in June I had the privilege of photographing a wedding for two great friends. I have know both Lance & Lisa for some time and it was so special to be a part of their day. They said their vows overlooking the ocean at the Makena Resort just before the sunset. Their were surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends. The day turned out lovely. We started off in the amazing Dan Sanchez’s salon where Lisa had her hair done by Dan & her makeup by Leah. They are the perfect team..Lisa looked fabulous. We headed to the World Mark condos for a few getting ready shots. I was the only one on hand to help Lisa into her dress..usually I am photographing it! Lance greeted Lisa once she was ready.. Lance is a quiet guy but you could see how much he adores Lisa by the look in his eyes. We headed to White Rock Beach for a few pre ceremony portraits of the bride and groom. It was a bit cloudy with gusty winds ..made for some dramatic images..I love clouds! The ceremony was perfect..Lance & Lisa declared their love for each other, exchanged rings & committed to spend the rest of their lives together. The ceremony was followed by family portraits and a nice dinner at the resort. it was a wonderful day. Thank you so much Lance & Lisa for having Nate & I as part of your day, We are so happy for you two…

Jake & Beth ~ Sheraton Maui Wedding

Back in July I had the pleasure of photographing Jake & Beth’s wedding day. Their ceremony was held at the gorgeous Sheraton Maui in Kaanapali. We met up with Beth at her condo where she was getting ready. She was a stunning bride. Jake waited for her downstairs to have their “first look”. Friends and family watched as they shared this special moment. Jake’s eyes lit up as Beth walked toward him… such a beautiful couple. I loved Beth’s color choice for her flowers & brides maid dresses. Yellow is so vibrant! We headed to the Sheraton where we started with couple portraits. Then it was off to the ceremony overlooking the ocean on the Sheraton’s lawn. Joshua Kahula played music and sang as Beth walked down the isle. Rhonda of a Royal Hawaiian Affair did a wonderful job planning and coordinating the everything. Their ceremony was a lovely part of the day..they pronounced their love for one another as friends and family shared in their joy. After they cut the cake and shared a few toasts we headed down to Black Rock for a few portraits. Thank you so much Jake & Beth for having us as part of your day. Congratulations! We wish you two many more happy memories as husband and wife.

Many thanks to the wonderful Joanna Tano for all her help.

Ian & Michelle ~ Makena Cove Wedding

I few weeks ago I met Ian & Michelle. The day I met them they were excited, nervous & couldn’t wait for what was to come. When I arrived Michelle was finishing up with hair & makeup and looked amazing! Mira did a wonderful job on both. Before she put on her wedding gown she took a moment to write a card to her husband to be, Ian. She tried not to cry but we could see the emotion in her face as she wrote…it was so sweet.

We delivered the note &  gift to Ian a bit later.. he seemed very calm & collected but I am sure he had warm fuzzies inside =) Michelle put on her stunning gown, pink shoes and beautiful jewelry and we headed out for their “First Look ” photos.. Ian calmly waited as Michelle approached from behind & tapped him on the shoulder.. It was such a special moment.

We headed to Makena Cove for some portraits & a sunset ceremony. The wind had calmed and the sun was out. It was a beautiful evening. Ian & Michelle said their I Do’s as a small group of family and friends looked on. A few tears of joy were shed as vows were said. The love was felt by all of us who shared in their day. Deanne from Precious Maui Weddings did a great job coordinating the event.

After the ceremony we stayed for some sunset portraits.. the sky was amazing, the nerves were calmed, husband & wife looked gorgeous in the sunset. All in all a perfect day.

The next morning we met up at Po’olenalena Beach for a super fun Trash the Dress Session. Ian & Michelle rode up on a scooter..it was so cute! The morning was warm, blue & lovely! I am so happy that I could be there to capture these memories for Ian & Michelle. Thanks you two for spending 2 days with us! Congratulations! I wish you many more adventures and tons of laughter as husband and wife. Much thanks to Joanna Tano for helping me and capturing amazing images both days..

A few of my favorites pics from both days… don’t miss the slideshow at the end..

Eric & Ellerene :: Makena Cove Wedding

Ellerene & Eric renewed their vows overlooking the beautiful, bright blue ocean at Makena Cove. Pia Aluli did an outstanding job with their ceremony. We could feel their love for one another as they reaffirmed their vows to each other. Ellerene looked lovely in her gown..her flowers were made by a local artist..they were made of clay! It was such a gorgeous day! After some portraits at Makena Cove we headed over to Big Beach for different scenery. After couple portraits it turned into a very fun Trash the Dress session. As we were shooting a pod of spinner dolphins made an appearance ..they seemed to be hanging out, playing in the waves.. it was so awesome! Thank you so much Eric & Ellerene for spending the day with us. It was a blast! We wish you many more happy years in your life together. Many thanks to Jana Morgan for 2nd shooting.
