  • I am the same! I love seeing people who love what they do too! One of my personal “fantasies” is to crew sailing ships and sail on boats.

  • What a great post!!! LOVE it!!!!

  • Love this post Kim! Yes, I agree we have one of the bestest jobs on the planet :) And as for the family portraits – you tell me when and I’ll take some for you! Can’t thank you enough for all of the photos you’ve taken of us!

  • This post made me tear up a bit! Really beautiful!
As a fellow memory keeper and preserver, we see our images up there on a person’s mantlepiece- we took part in that special moment quietly on the sidelines pressing the shutter while they made history. Their joy and happiness encapsulated in our art.

When you spoke of the funeral that you attended I could imagine how touching it was to see one of your images.

I was reminded of the images in a slideshow you often see of a person’s greatest moments in their life. I felt so verklemt when I attended a friend’s wife’s funeral. They had been married for 25 years and she tragically died of cancer within a year. There was an image at the funeral that took my breath away. A moment where the two of them were dancing together at their oldest son’s wedding. You just never know when you’re going to have your last dance…
So I make it my personal prerogative to take photos of every single guest dancing with their spouse at a wedding.
Kim, take your colleagues up on their offer! You deserve your memories preserved too! It’ll make you appreciate your job so much more when you take some time to be in front of it yourself!

PS: I totally want to see you as Roller Girl! That’d be totally awesome.

  • Oh. My Cuteness! These pictures are too precious. I wanna meet your pups, maybe one of these days I’ll show up on your doorstep w/a bottle of sake. The ear tugging one is my favorite.
